The time is NOW!

The time is NOW!

Today, I woke up to a new headliner that has me completely broken and burdened.

"A 15-year-old foster girl being housed in a Child Protective Services office was struck by a vehicle and killed in Houston early Sunday, more than 10 hours after she and another foster girl fled from CPS employees tending them in a state office building."

No child, I repeat NO CHILD should have to sleep in the CPS office. EVER!

If you are pro-life then you better be standing up and doing something for these children after they are born. I'm tired of the Church ignoring God's call to care for the Orphan because it doesn't look pretty. I'm tired of seeing child after child from infant to ten sleeping in the CPS office or going into along ten shelter because no one will open their doors or their hearts.

I'm continually reminded of Matthew 19:13-15

"Then the little children were brought to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them and pray for them; and the disciples rebuked those who brought them. But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” And after He had placed His hands on them, He went on from there."

How many of us are just like those disciples and blocking the children from coming to Jesus. If we don't shine God's Love, His Truth, His Light into their lives who will?

What kind of Christians have we become that we would ignore the least of these?

Matthew 25:31-46

"When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, He will sit on His glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate the people one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will place the sheep on His right and the goats on His left.

Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger and you took Me in, I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked after Me, I was in prison and you visited Me.’

Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You something to drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? When did we see You sick or in prison and visit You?’

And the King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’

Then He will say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave Me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, I was naked and you did not clothe Me, I was sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’

And they too will reply, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’

Then the King will answer, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for Me.’

And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

This is NOT a pretty scripture to follow through with. Prison, stranger, naked … none of those things on the list are a pretty scene but Christ was very clear! What you do for them you do for Christ. He was also very clear about what you do NOT do for them is just the same as you NOT doing for Him.

Wake up Christians. This crisis is not on the state, it is on us. No matter what the letter of the law and government says the fact is that Christ, our Lord and Savior has called us to care for the fatherless. It is time we stop doing pretty Christian work and we start on our Mission field that is right here in our church, our schools, our neighborhood, our city. It is time to step up and “do something”. I will repeat again, NO child should sleep in a CPS office and NO child should be homeless. What will you do for the orphan? Are you truly pro-life? Then it is time to step up!
